Health technology assessment

My principal research area is the development of economic models for health technology assessment.

This involves combining evidence on how effective different treatments are, how much they cost, and how different outcomes and events affect quality of life and healthcare resource use.

These models then produce estimates of the additional costs associated with new treatments, and how much they represent a cost-effective use of NHS resources.

Other research areas

In addition to an interest in decision models for economic evaluation of health technologies, I also have interests in hierarchical statistical models, meta-analysis and statistical methods relating to genetics.
